The Caboolture Artisans Guild was formed in 1988 to promote and improve the skills of traditional artists and artisans residing in the Caboolture district, and provide a venue for the artistically inclined to meet & mingle, and display & sell arts and crafts.
Working closely with creative locals, other local arts and crafts groups, as well as local charities, the Artisans Guild of Caboolture and District Inc. is a little-known creative haven within the Moreton Bay Region.
Local art and handmade craft are always on display in the gallery. You can view artworks and inspired crafts from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Exhibits include a variety of arts and crafts:
The guild hosts a few major, annual events throughout the year.
The Meet the Artisans event in May gives members of the public the opportunity to talk with guild members and watch them demonstrate their talents and abilities up close.
The annual Members Arts and Crafts Guild Spring Fair Exhibition features inspired work contributed by long-term guild members, as well as newcomers. Some of the arts and crafts are available for purchase and attendees can vote for their favourite piece.
The gallery also plays host to other, smaller north Brisbane art exhibitions throughout the year.
Looking to brush up on your artistic abilities? Take part in Artisans Guild art classes.
The guild offers a range of workshops hosted by members. You can choose from a watercolour class, crafting group, painting workshop and an imaginative art class in which you can experiment with any medium you desire.
Most classes include morning tea.
If you’re looking to plan a social outing for you and a creatively inclined group, the Artisans Gallery is a great venue to visit.
There is always an exhibition on, and entry to the air-conditioned gallery is FREE. No bookings are required but for an extra touch of hospitality, you can request a group morning tea if you let the guild know you’ll be coming.
The modest venue is a wonderful pit-stop for art and craft lovers travelling between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. You’ll find it located just off of the highway after the Uhlmann Road exit.
If you’re feeling inspired, you can pick up some art supplies? The Artisans Guild Art and Craft Shop is located in Caboolture Square Shopping Centre, King St, Caboolture.
The shop is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm, and Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm. Closed on Sundays.
