Exhibition: Making Do

What: During times of hardship, like the Great Depression and the war years, ‘making do’ was a way of life, and people made the most of what they had to make ends meet. This exhibition developed by Moreton Bay Regional Council showcases fascinating ‘make do’ objects from the past and repurposed objects.

Arts Markets

What: Creative Samford Inc will showcase local artists during this market day, which will include stalls from painters, illustrators, jewellers, graphic designers, potters, fibre artists, photographers and buskers.

Lego Kids

LEGO Engineers Club

What: Develop design thinking and engineering skills as you build and create with LEGO® bricks. The club for 6-12 year olds meets on the first and third Monday of the month. Meet other brick fans and complete challenges. Registration is required.

Street Science Show

What: Discover the magic of real science in a stage show filled with mind-blowing demonstrations. Let Street Science show you the wonders of the natural world and prove science can be seriously fun.

Where: Redcliffe Library (10am); Strathpine (1pm); Deception Bay (Jan 13, 10.30am); North Lakes (Jan 13, 1pm)

Theatre Moreton Bay Region

Captain Hook’s Revenge

What: Mousetrap Theatre Company presents this pantomime written by Richard Coleman, which promises to entertain the whole family.

DNA for Genealogists

What: Discover how DNA testing can be used to enrich family history research. Participants can watch pre-recorded webinars from DNA genealogists, as well as listen to local speakers. The group meets on the third Thursday of the month.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery Unseen Exhibition Moreton Bay Region


What: View quality documentaries, mainstream movies and indie films from the libraries of Beamafilm and Kanopy. These sessions, on the fourth Thursday of the month, are for adults only. No bookings needed.

Exhibition: Know Your Neighbour

What: Participating artists will examine ideas surrounding friendship, social connection, community and civic responsibility. This exhibition curated by Moreton Bay Regional Council will ask who we are, what it means to be a good neighbour, not just in a local context but also further abroad?

Holy Green Music Festival

What: This diverse Australian music festival, held each year over the Australia Day long-weekend will feature Bastille, The Jungle Giants (pictured), Meg Mac, Winston Surfshirt and more.

Aussie Arvo Pool Party

Legends of Doo Wop

What: The Lions Den features the music of the Legends of Doo Wop in a celebration of the legendary boy bands of the 20th century including The Drifters, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Bee Gees, The Stylistics, Righteous Bros, The Beatles, The Platters, Everly Brothers, and more.

Scarborough Originals

What: This free, monthly, live music Redcliffe gig series is no joke – on the first Saturday of each month a line-up of talented musos will bring a mixed bag of sweet tunes to Scarborough Beach Park for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike.
