Moreton Bay the Locals Way - The Rogers Top 6 Spots

Lauren and her husband Shane, along with their two children Pip (5) and Charlie (6) have called the Moreton Bay Region home for eight years.

Before having kids, both Lauren and Shane were city-slickers. When they decided it was time to start a family, they wanted to find somewhere more child-friendly and away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

For them, making the move to Moreton Bay was an easy choice when deciding where to start their family and raise their children.

“The area also offers great BBQ facilities, which we’ve made use of for those balmy summer sunset dinners”

Family Day Out: Nature Hike at Samford

“We like to pop on our joggers, hop in the car and head out to Samford Valley for a nature hike on one of the many family friendly tracks, especially the South Pine River Track – that’s our favourite. It’s great to get back to nature and get the body moving.”

Learning Made Fun: Kumbartcho Sanctuary, Eatons Hill

“The kids love visiting Kumbartcho Sanctuary at Eatons Hill. This peaceful 6-hectare nature reserve has bush tracks, fairy gardens and native animals everywhere. I also like to have a look through the plant nursery they have onsite.”

Not only does Bribie Island have so much to see and do, but the BIG4 Sandstone Point has oodles of fun things for the kids (and parents) to immerse themselves in, like the amazing waterpark, jumping pillow and games room – so much fun for everyone!”

Best Fish and Chips: The Boat Shed, Scarborough

“It’s a colourful little seaside restaurant which is family friendly and has spectacular views out to Moreton Bay. The seafood is fresh, with the fish cooked in a very light battered tempura style – it’s delicious. All meals come with the tastiest little sweet potato curls and grilled corn! It’s BYO – so bring a beer or wine to enjoy with your meal.”
