Stone Ridge Park | Narangba

They say a person’s home is their castle, but what about a suburban park? For the best of North Brisbane parks head to Narangba for a looksee at the brand new Stone Ridge Park.

North Brisbane Parks just got better…

Situated on a cleverly-recrafted hill and terraced over 4 levels, Stone Ridge Park has fast become one of the suburb’s latest family attractions. Bordering the entirety of Stone Ridge Boulevard, there’s something to do for everyone here, making this a number one weekend destination for Moreton Bay Region locals.

Top Level

On the upper level, where there are great views and continuous breezes, a mini basketball court complete with shooting hoop can be found - making this level ideal for teenagers and older kids.

Edged by comfortable patches of grass, you can admire the surrounding view, even taking in a sunset, or sunrise if you happen to come by at dusk, or dawn.

Level 3

If you stroll downwards along the quaint, winding path to the next level, you’ll be greeted by an impressively large eating area. Shaded by a high, modern-styled slanting roof, in keeping with the aesthetics of the surrounding suburban decor, the eating space has been cleverly built around a prominent gum tree.

The table and bench area is spacious enough to cater for large-numbered gatherings, and there is even room to pitch an extra annex, or two. The weather-proof community noticeboard is also a clever little addition here.

Level 2

On one level below this (easily overlooked by the eating area) you’ll discover the playground filled with multiple swings, a large, domed climbing frame of both steel and thick rope, a shade-sail covered slippery dip, spinning contraptions and seesaws – all nicely spaced apart and nestled upon white sand.

Part of this play area is fenced and sits upon some stone retaining walls and there are numerous, tall native trees dotted around to provide some shade against the sun.

Short wooden pillars grouped throughout have cute metal pictures of native Australian birds displayed on them, and there are also colourful boxed cubes providing information about our native animals.

Level 1

Just below the second elevated level is the toddler area, complete with its own single, multi-purposed play equipment, and mock tarmac riding track. Here, kids can practice riding their bikes along bendy roads, learning the road rules as they go.

This entire level is shaded and secluded by what looks like a mini forest.

Ground Level

Acting as a welcoming beacon to the park, on the lower level at the foot of Nexus street, you’ll find a large sit-down flying fox kids of all ages can enjoy.
