What to Expect

The first day will see you transferred from Brisbane to Moreton Island aboard a luxury catamaran. The trip across the bay offers ample opportunity for marine life spotting. The waters of our bay are home to beautiful turtles, dolphins, dugongs and whales during humpback migration season.

Once you land on the eastern surf beach you’ll be whisked off for a 4WD eco-guided tour to Moreton Island attractions. You’ll swim or snorkel in Blue Lagoon (a fresh water lake), enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the beach, visit the desert for a sand tobogganing adventure, walk up Cape Moreton Lighthouse, and explore North Point and Honeymoon Bay, nearby the Champagne Pools.

Keep an eye out for native wildlife such as sea eagles, hawks and pelicans as you travel around the island.

After the activities and sightseeing wraps up, your guide will return you to Tangalooma Resort Moreton Bay where you will check into your 2 night Kookaburra Lodge hotel room accommodation overlooking the water, suitable for up to 4 guests.

Your first evening will include a wild dolphin hand feeding experience.

Day 1

The first day of this tour includes all the locations, activities and sightseeing covered in Sunrover’s 1 Day 4WD Sightseeing Tour:

  • Marine life spotting as you travel across the bay.
  • Fully guided island eco-safari to Moreton Island attractions.
  • Fresh lunch, fruit, cake and cold drinks on Day 1.
  • Desert sand boarding (all gear supplied).
  • 4WD past Spitfire Creek and Aboriginal Midden sites.
  • Snorkel or swim in Blue Lagoon, a freshwater lake.
  • Visit the Champagne Pools and beaches of Honeymoon Bay and North Point.
  • Head up Cape Moreton Lighthouse to spot marine life from the viewing platform.

Day 2

There is no set itinerary to follow on your second day. Simply relax and explore in and around Tangalooma Resort Moreton Bay at your leisure. You can kick back on the beach with a good book, visit the jetty for a pelican feeding, swim or snorkel Tangalooma Shipwrecks, or participate in over 30 FREE resort activities, or fee-incurring activities.

Day 3

Your third day is packed with on-water fun. The Marine Park Wildlife Spotting Tour will take you out on the bay where a marine biologist will provide expert commentary on Moreton Bay Marine Park’s aquatic residents.

Later in the afternoon, after your on-the-bay outing, you will hop aboard the catamaran to head back to the mainland, returning to Brisbane to be shuttled to your Brisbane CBD accommodation, arriving home about 6pm.
