Time for a Shopping Excursion

Head to Westfield Shopping Centre for a day of browsing and self-indulgence. Westfield is home to the brand new Queensland IKEA outlet, Event Cinemas, big name brands, boutique stores, supermarkets and eateries.

So what to do in North Lakes Westfield first-up? If you’d rather go straight from Kallangur Brisbane to Westfield, then begin the morning with a caffeine pick-me-up, or gourmet breakfast from the Melbourne laneway themed Coffee Hit in the new Westfield laneway mall, before hitting the shops.

When you’re fuelled up pop into the 29,000 square metre, 2 storey IKEA store – 1 of only 2 Queensland IKEA outlets. The store is found at the end of the newly opened concourse extension housing a whole range of shops including ‘mini majors’ and over 60 specialty stores.

Though the Swedish furniture behemoth specialises in flat pack offerings, you can also find compact decorative indoor and outdoor home items, plus bicycles, kids toys, arts & crafts and more. Or simply browse around to pick up some ideas to spruce up your own home.

Keep the Good Times Rolling Saturday Evening

If you’re not quite ready for the day to end, then pop into one of the bars outside, or nearby Westfield for a spot of socialising, or visit the chocolate café within Westfield for decadent desserts instead.

You’ll find a couple of tipple options to suit your taste – from a beach themed bar & grill, through to taverns and trendy bar & café joints. Alternatively, you could always head back to the motel, drop off your shopping and visit the tavern next door, or Norths Leagues & Services Club 1.2km west of the motel for family friendly dining, or some pokies fun.

Take a Stroll by the Water

Get some sun at North Lakes Town Park and go for a stroll along the Lake Eden Trail nearby featuring 3 parks and playgrounds dotted throughout the vicinity.

The approximate 1.7 kilometre walkway weaves around the whole of the lake offering stunning views of the water and the lake’s resident wildlife.

Once you’ve soaked up enough Vitamin D, you can finish your outing with a leisurely lunch at one of the nearby restaurants, or cafes.
