Sleigh bells are ringing once again as the holiday season approaches! To help spread the cheer, we’ve searched the region and found the most festive events and experiences sure to bring your family together for a day of seasonal fun.

Bribie Island Boat Parade

Spend your evening sitting on the banks of the Pacific Harbour canals as a procession of decorated boats cruise through Pumicestone Passage to view the Christmas Lights of Bribie Island homes. Bring your little ones along from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm as Santa and his helpers make their way through, handing lollies out to some lucky children. Join the procession by registering your boat, throw a party at your home, or gather in a canal park. The official parade begins at 7:00 pm with prizes for best Christmas Lights house display and best decorated boat.

Old Petrie Town Do You Bee-lieve?

If you’re looking for a unique experience this Christmas, head out to Old Petrie Town and discover the magical wonderland that is the ‘Do You Bee-lieve?’ exhibition. This annual exhibition follows the story of two hand-sculpted dragons that have fallen in love. This year, in an all-new display, Mr Trufflewafflepuff and Ms Lulu Lovebug are set to tie the knot and welcome new additions to their family in their very first Christmas together. An interactive display, children can spend time trying to solve the ‘seek and find’ clues hidden throughout. Open until January 27, 2019, ‘Do You Bee-lieve?’ is set for its biggest season yet. Entry is $5 for children (3 – 16 years), $10 for adults. 


Boating Planet's Christmas Lights Cruise

Thanks to popular demand, Boating Planet is bringing back their Newport Canal Christmas Light Cruises! Grab your family or your friends for a 2-hour tour of some of the best Christmas light displays in the Moreton Bay Region. For $160 and up to 5 people, you could spend an evening enjoying a truly unique and magical Christmas experience in the Moreton Bay Region. Departing Newport Marina from 7pm, Monday - Saturday. Sandstone Point Hotel Christmas Carnival

Mark Saturday 22 December in your calendar as the day for a whole lot of family fun! Starting from noon, Sandstone Point Hotel will play host to a range of market and food stalls, kids rides, live music and entertainment and fireworks. They’ve also been in touch with the North Pole to organise a visit from Santa himself. It also wouldn’t be Christmas without a live choir singing your favourite Christmas carols all night long so be sure to warm up your vocal chords! Santa’s Sleigh

Santa’s sleigh is coming to Redcliffe and might be passing through your street from Sunday 2 December to Friday 21 December. Bring the kids out to curb from 5 pm – 8 pm to await the arrival of the jolly man in the big red suit! View the map and the lists of streets here to find out when he’s stopping by your home!


Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region Carol Events

To ensure the festive spirit is spread across the entire region, Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism has organised a bunch of Christmas Carol events. Great for families or group of friends, the Christmas carol events are held from 3 pm – 8 pm and feature a range of choirs singing classic Christmas songs, roving entertainment, Santa’s Village workshop and activities, a Santa meet and greet and a fireworks finale! Free to attend, you’ll also find a great range of food and a chance for some last-minute Christmas shopping at the market stalls. Find your local event below:


Meet Santa at Your Local Shopping Centres

Pics with Santa have long been a standing tradition of the holiday season and that’s not about the change any time soon. Always a smash hit and a great laugh when you find out your child fears the jolly man with the big beard who brings them presents, many Moreton Bay Region shopping centres are bringing Mr Claus back throughout December.
