Anzac Day Brisbane North Moreton Bayside Commemorations

Art, Culture & Heritage

The courageous Anzac spirit born in the face of catastrophic strategic errors and insurmountable odds on the Gallipoli shore forms an integral part of Australia’s national identity.

The gallantry, resilience and larrikin humour of the Gallipoli servicemen and servicewomen birthed an enduring Anzac legend which has come to define our country as one instilled with the values of mateship and a fair go for all, tenets Australian’s still aspire to, fight for and hold dear.

Redcliffe RSL Anzac Day Tributes

The Redcliffe RSL Sub-Branch is pulling out all the stops this Anzac Day with the backing of Moreton Bay Regional Council. The RSL encourages all Moreton Bay Region locals from far and wide to heed the bugle call, embrace the Anzac spirit and come together as a community along the Redcliffe peninsula.

As the official host of the peninsula’s Anzac Parades and Services, the Redcliffe RSL will be hosting one of Queensland’s largest and most poignant Anzac Day Brisbane North Services. The annual Redcliffe Dawn Service and Anzac Parade Brisbane North procession is a unique event taking place by the waterfront along Redcliffe’s peninsula at Anzac Park.

Redcliffe’s Anzac Day March Brisbane North

Rise early and fall-in at the intersection of Redcliffe Parade and Baker St at 5:00 am to march-off at 5:15 am. The Anzac Day Parade will be separated into 3 groups: veterans accompanied by their families, cadets and others including those marching in remembrance of a loved one.

Redcliffe Dawn Service

The March will be followed by a touching Service at Anzac Place beginning at 5:30 am.

Latecomers and those struggling for a live-view of proceedings on the day will be able to breathe easy. Massive outdoor screens along with high-quality speakers will be erected to broadcast the service to the crowds gathered by the waterfront.

Redcliffe RSL’s Gunfire Breakfast

After the Anzac Day Brisbane North March all current and ex-servicemen and women along with their families will be invited to a FREE breakfast in the Redcliffe RSL’s Gallipoli Grill between 6:00 am and 8:00 am. Members of the public will be welcome to dig in alongside returned diggers and their relatives for a gold coin donation, the proceeds of which will go to the Legacy charity organisation.

Woody Point’s Anzac Service

After the Redcliffe RSL’s Gunfire Breakfast comes to an end, another service will be held in the Woody Point Community Centre starting at 8:30 am.

Redcliffe’s Anzac Day Brisbane North Parade & RSL Main Service

The main event of the day will have Redcliffe practically bursting at the seams with swelling crowd numbers. An influx of visitors is expected to take over the peninsula to witness and join in the 9:30 am Anzac Parade and Service.

The bayside Anzac Day March Brisbane North commences at the Redcliffe Parade and Anzac Avenue roundabout. This march is the centrepiece of Redcliffe RSL’s Anzac Day events.

Last year, crowds close to 24,000 strong poured into Redcliffe from all over the Moreton Bay Region for the Dawn Service, with numbers dropping to around 15,000 for the Main Service. The Redcliffe community needs your help to eclipse the record of 30,000 attendees, so come to the peninsula this Anzac Day to help make 2019’s commemorations the largest Redcliffe has ever seen.

Finish-Off the Day at Redcliffe RSL’s Outdoor Two-Up Bar

Salute the Anzac diggers over a cold one at the Outdoor Two-Up Bar scheduled to open-up in Redcliffe RSL’s loading dock/car park after the main Anzac Parade and Anzac Service comes to a close.
