5 Things to Do Near Brisbane With Kids Today

Brisbane Parents! Looking for something to do today with the kids? There are tons of things to do near Brisbane with kids – here’s our guide to giving them the BEST DAY EVER – and they’re all so close to home!

#1 Family Fun Day in Albany Creek – 20 minutes from Brisbane

First, head to Albany Creek Skateway for a fun morning with kids of all ages.

Next pop down to the Albany Creek Tavern for lunch – enjoy a steak while the kids have a kid's meal and play in the playground.

Then head to Albany Creek Leisure Centre to ride the waterslide, swim the whirlpool or splash in the toddler play section. Even in winter enjoy a swim as the pools are nice and heated.

#2 Family Fun Day in Narangba and Burpengary, 25 Minutes from Brisbane

Kids will love Greenway Central Park in Narangba – a gigantic play paradise in the Stone Ridge Community off O’Mara Road in Narangba.

Pick up a pizza for lunch at Narangba’s famous Narangba Village Pizza, 36 Main Street in Narangba.

As the day heats up, hit the Caboolture Aquatic Centre for a very affordable play and paddle at 1 Aquatic Centre Drive, Burpengary.

#3 Family Fun Day in Petrie and Kurwongbah, 25 minutes from Brisbane

Start your morning with a big adventure! Head down Old Gympie Road to Leis Park. Here you’ll find a cool play area, places to catch little fish and, at the fork in the North Pine River, a calm place for kids to go river swimming. Bring some footwear as it’s a rocky crossing but a favourite of locals who love to get out among nature!

Head to North Leagues Club to grab a light lunch in air-conditioned comfort. They have a wonderful selection of kids friendly food items... don't forget your ice-cream!

Finally, pop out to the Pine Rivers Museum situated in Old Petrie Town. Not only is entry free, but they have a fantastic Kids program.

#4 Family Fun Day in Eatons Hill, Ferny Grove and Bunya, 25 minutes from Brisbane

Head to Bunyaville Forest Reserve and take a hike – be on the lookout for koalas, echidnas, wallabies, lizards and other native friends. Pop into the Education Centre before you go to get tips on spotting animals on the reserve!

Next, stop for some lunch at the awesome Eatons Hill Hotel, complete with playground.

Finally, head to the Brisbane Tramway Museum in Ferny Grove for a tram ride through Brisbane’s history. This is a great day out for kids who love trains!

#5 Family Day Out in Griffin, 25 minutes from Brisbane

Take a wetlands walk from Osprey House Environmental Centre on Dohles Rocks Road. Here you’ll spot a host of native animals – maybe even a koala!

Head back to Murrumba Downs, grab some lunch, and some duck food from the pet store. Head over to Black Duck Reserve for a picnic lunch and some bird spotting.

Finish your day by hiring a dinghy and head out on the Pine River and Hays Inlet to see Moreton from a new perspective!
